Summer Learning Journey

LI: To celebrate our success.

Last week PBS had their Summer Learning Journey celebration assembly. Mrs Grant came and presented our certificates and prizes. Many students got a certificate for participating in the holidays and a few got prizes for example, three students got the top 3 bloggers in the school or . The Summer Learning Journey was a fun activity to do while on break because it kept our brains going throughout the holidays.

Octopus Oddities|SLJ

For todays Summer Learning Journey activity, we were tasked to pick a octopus and to colour it in online or print it out and use markers and colouring pencils. I coloured this in online and used thecolour.com. I chose a dumbo octopus because I think that they are a cool type of octopus and its one of my favourites type of octopus. Three facts I learned is that Dumbo octopus live up to only 3-5 years, they live on the deep sea floor and every octopus has three hearts and 9 brains!
I really enjoyed this activity because I like octopi the most out of my favourite marine animals.

Mosha’s Special Leg|SLJ

For todays Summer Learning Journey activity, we created a design for Mosha the elephants leg. I tried to replicate the other legs and put purple straps on it because I thought it would suit Mosha and also so they knew it was a special leg.
I really liked this activity because I could use my creativity which was cool.

Legs Tally Step it up|SLJ

For todays step it up activity, we were asked to make a copy of another Google drawing and answer the questions on it.One fact I learned about centipedes is that they can live anywhere, from the bottom of trees and to the inside of someones house.
I liked this activity because it tested my knowledge on centipedes which means it was a challenge.

Legs Tally Kick start|SLJ

Today for the Summer Learning Journey we were doing 8 Maths equations on a google drawing and the equations were related to Centipedes. I answered all of the questions and these are my answers.
I liked this activity because Maths is one of my favourite subjects and this was a nice and easy activity to do.

Spider-web Craft|SLJ

Yesterdays activity got a Step it up. First I watched a video about Spiders and their webs, then I did a quiz about it which had 5 questions. Then I watched a tutorial that taught me how to make a Spider-web and I created this using a penic and a piece of A4 paper and some scissors.
I enjoyed this Summer Learning journey activity because it was a fun craft to create.

Spider-web Art|SLJ

Today, the Summer Learning Journey activity was about spiders and their webs. First we watched a tutorial on how to draw spider webs using a pen and paper. We learned how to draw two types of webs, which was a big and full one and a spider web in a corner. I created this using a pencil and paper and used my creativity to make this drawing. I had one big full spider web in the middle and four spider webs in each corner and I drew a spider hanging down from the big web.
I really liked this Summer Learning Journey activity because I enjoy drawing in my free time.
